The IAEA Regional Workshop on Experiences of Corrective and Protective Radon Measures was held in Yerevan, Armenia from 23 to 27 October 2017.
The workshop was organized by the IAEA jointly with ANRA within the framework of the IAEA technical cooperation project RER/9/136 “Reducing Public Exposure to Radon by Supporting the Implementation and Further Development of National Strategies”.
The purpose of the workshop was to exchange knowledge and experiences on implementation of protective and corrective radon measures related to monitoring of radon and to summarize the progress made under the regional project RER/9/136 over the past two years.
The workshop was attended by IAEA staff, international experts from Australia, France and Sweden, as well as specialists involved in radon monitoring from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Armenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Macedonia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. During the workshop IAEA Technical officer and international experts introduced the IAEA safety standards related to radon gas monitoring and the participants made national presentations on associated experiences and practices existing in their countries followed by interactive discussions.
