In the framework of the arrangement between the Armenian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (hereinafter referred to as ANRA) and the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (hereinafter referred to as US NRC) for the Exchange of Technical Information and Cooperation in Nuclear Safety Matters, signed on 29 March, 2017, US NRC delegation visited Yerevan, Armenia from 18 to 21 July, 2018. The delegation was composed of Mr. Stephen Burns – US NRC Commissioner, Mr. Jason Zorn – Chief of Staff to Commissioner Burns, Mr. Steven Baggett – Advisor to Commissioner Burns on Radioactive Materials, Mr. Barry Miller – Senior International Relations Officer․
In the frame of the visit US NRC delegation visited the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant on July 19, 2018. During the visit the delegation had a tour at the ANPP and also a meeting with the ANPP management during which the current situation concerned with NPP operation, design lifetime extension and other issues were discussed.
Then, on July 20, 2018 US NRC delegation had a meeting at ANRA during which current issues, implemented activities and plans concerned with the regulation of nuclear and radiation safety in nuclear facilities were discussed
