Transport Notifications

NOTIFICIATION ON TRANSPORTATION OF REGULATED MATERIALS

According to the RA Government Decree N931 as of 27.06.2002 on approval of the procedure for safe transport of nuclear and radioactive materials the consignor is obliged to:

  • Submit a notification to the regulatory body no later than 5 days before the start of the transportation of nuclear and radioactive materials.

  • If the consignor intends to transport the same type and quantity of nuclear radioactive materials to the recipient of the same consignment several times in the same vehicle, the consignor must inform the regulatory body about the transportation not later than 5 working days before the beginning of each transportation of nuclear radioactive materials.

  • The consignor and the consignee are obliged to submit a notification to the regulatory body within 5 days after the completion of the transportation of nuclear-radioactive materials on the completion of the cargo transportation.

NOTIFICATION CONTENT

According to the RA Government Decree № 1263 as of 24.12.2001 on approval of the special rules on transport of nuclear and radioactive materials the noticification must contain the following information:

  • information sufficient to identify the package or packages, including all relevant certificate numbers and logos․

  • Information about the carrier, the vehicle (including the vehicle registration number or license plates), the date of shipment, the expected date of arrival and the alleged route.

  • Names of nuclear and radioactive materials or radioisotopes

  • A description of a physical or chemical substance of a nuclear or radioactive material or a record that it is a specific type of radioactive material or radioactive material with a low diffusion property

  • Information on maximum content activity during transportation, expressed in Becquerels (Bq) with the appropriate prefix of the SI system. For the material to be dispersed, the mass of that material may be indicated in grams (g) or in multiplied units․

  • A detailed description of the implementation of security measures

  • A copy of the contract between the sender and the recipient

For transport under special conditions, the notice must also contain the following information

  • on the rules, deviations from the requirements of safety norms, their reasons;

  • any special technical-administrative measures to compensate for the deviations mentioned in order to ensure safety, which are planned to be implemented during transportation.

SUBMISSION OF THE NOTIFICATION OF TRANSPORT OF REGULATED MATERIALS
