Nuclear Safety
Nuclear safety regulation is implemented through:
✓ Establishment of safety norms, rules, regulations, and other legal acts,
✓ Organization and conduct of safety assessments, researches and analyses,
✓ Licensing, inspection and imposing sanctions to nuclear facilities in case of noncompliance or non-fulfilment of safety requirements.
Nuclear materials are safeguarded jointly with the International Atomic Energy Agency in accordance with the Agreement between the Republic Armenia and the International Atomic Energy Agency for the Application of Safeguards in connection with the Treaty on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons signed on 23.09.1993 and Protocol Additional to the Safeguards Agreement.
