The 13th Annual Meeting of WWER Regulators Forum was held in Yerevan from 27 - 29 June 2006. The meeting’s main objective was to exchange information on nuclear safety issues that are specific for WWER type reactors. The meeting attendees included chairmen and key experts of regulatory authorities of Armenia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Russia, Slovak Republic, Czech Republic, Finland, and Ukraine. For the first time, attendees also included chairmen and key specialists of India and Iran. Observers from IAEA, GRS and IRSN also attended the Forum meeting.
The participants exchanged information about recent changes in nuclear legislation, regulatory policy and practice in the field of nuclear safety, operational events, and measures undertaken based on investigation results.
During the meeting the results and achievements of the following working groups of the WWER regulators forum had been discussed:
