A consultation between experts from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of International Nuclear Safety and the Armenian Nuclear Regulatory Authority was held at the Armenian Nuclear Regulatory Authority from 23 to 26 February.
Over four days, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of International Nuclear Security and the Armenian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (ANRA) held a productive consultation in Yerevan to strengthen Armenia’s nuclear regulatory framework.


The agenda focused on:
Computer Security for Nuclear Safety - to share international guidelines and best practices with ANRA’s regulatory documentation team, computer security officers, and CERT experts.
Insider Threat Mitigation - to review approaches for embedding insider threat considerations into national legislation and regulatory guidelines with ANRA’s regulatory and security staff.
Future Planning - to coordinate next steps for 2026, including national regulatory guidelines for design basis threats, site security plans, and the interface between security and emergency preparedness.


This collaboration highlights Armenia’s commitment to international best practices and continuous improvement in nuclear safety and security.
