ANRA hosted the IAEA Regional Workshop on Methodologies and Types of Inspections Used by Member States during Operation and Decommissioning of NPPs. The workshop was organized from 16 to 19 April 2012 under the IAEA TC Project RER/9/110 “Strengthening the Inspection Capabilities and Programmes of the Regulatory Authorities”.
The objective of the workshop was to discuss the various methodologies and types of inspections used by countries operating NPPs in Europe region, key elements of various inspection methodologies and approaches applied at the NPPs.
The workshop was attended by experienced staff members of the regulatory authorities of Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Romania, Lithuania, Georgia, Turkey, Ukraine, Russian Federation, Macedonia, Kazakhstan. The workshop consisted of working sessions and presentations delivered by the experts from US NRC and ASN related to various methodologies and inspections types used in their countries, as well as the IAEA safety standards.
The participants delivered presentations on the inspection methodologies and types used in their organizations, including frequency, procedures and other associated information.
At the end of the workshop the participants and experts concluded that the workshop was an important step in their effort to improve and reinforce the regulatory inspection programs, procedures and capabilities.
