A team of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) experts completed INSSP (Integrated Nuclear Security Support Plan (INSSP) Review Mission for Armenia from 6 to 9 November 2017.
The INSSP Review Mission was invited by the Government of Armenia in 2016.
The objective of the INSSP Review Mission was to review and update Armenia’s INSSP in order to identify achievements, update completed activities and to identify and prioritize needs for further implementation of nuclear security activities in Armenia.
The INSSP review team consisted of IAEA staff and experts from USA and Finland. On the first day of the mission the IAEA staff made an overview of IAEA Nuclear Security Programme, INSSP and NUSIMS.
Representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of RA, State revenue committee, Ministry of Energy Infrastructure and Natural Resources of RA, ANPP, "Rendering Harmless Radioactive Waste" CJS, National Security Service of RA, Police of RA were invited to participate in the activities of INSSP review mission and make their contribution in review of new INSSP plan.
The new INSSP and the INSSP Implementation Plan for Armenia covering 2018-2020 were developed as a result of the INSSP Review Mission.
