The workshop on licensing the NPP lifetime extension was organized in Yerevan from 30 January to 2 February, 2017, in the frameworks of the arrangement Between State Committee under Government օf Republic օf Armenia on Nuclear Safety Regulation (ANRA) and United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission for the Exchange օf Technical Information and Cooperation in Nuclear Safety Matters.
Specialists of ANRA, Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center and Armenian NPP involved in the ANPP operation design lifetime extension took part in the workshop.
During the workshop US NRC experts represented the regulatory approach for nuclear power plants and license renewal in the USA, operation design lifetime extension planning, review of aging management programs and other issues. Practical exercises, as well as discussions were held among the Armenian and USA specialists.
According to the work plan, the USA NRC experts visited the Armenian NPP.
